On Friday night, we had the photo booth at Culver Academy’s Class of 1984 After Party. It was nice seeing everyone again as I was a Freshman their senior year. This evening we had the photo booth in Plymouth, Indiana at Jefferson Elementary school’s Spring Carnival. The booth was extremely popular the entire carnival with over 250 people passing through the booth in two hours. Tonight I traveled with the photo booth to Akron, Indiana for Akron’s Elementary school carnival. Being my second year at this event, I knew what to expect and knew the booth would be popular. Saturday night, I was asked to bring the photo booth Culver Community High School’s After Prom. Last year was our first year at their After Prom and the photo booth was so popular, they wanted us back. All the students enjoyed the booth along with the other activities that Plymouth’s Life Plex has to offer. By the end of the night, the students were beginning to look a little worn out from 4 or 5 hours at their prom dancing, and 3 hours of swimming, dodge ball, volleyball, and basketball. On Saturday, we traveled to the Duneland Falls Conference Center in Portage, Indiana with the photo booth for Ivy Tech’s Students Recognition Dinner. The photo booth was one of several activities that the school put on for the students and it was popular throughout the evening. Last night, I traveled with the photo booth to the Century Center in South Bend for the 2014 Plymouth High School Prom. The PHS Prom committee and the Century Center did a wonderful job creating an elegant New York evening for the students. The photo booth was a huge hit with a line most of the night. Yesterday, we traveled to Elkhart, Indiana with the photo booth for a benefit for Zachary “Talley-Man” Talley. Zach is a young 15 year-old who suffers from Ataxia-telangiectasia, a rare genetic disease that attacks children, causing progressive loss of muscle control, immune system problems, and a high rate of cancer. Zach is confined to a wheelchair. The benefit was put on by a local Boy Scout troop that Zach is a member of. They hoped to raise enough money to purchase a handicap-accessible van and some much needed home remodeling to better accommodate Zach and his wheelchair. The spagetti dinner benefit was well attended. They had a silent auction, a bake sale, and numerous other activities that helped raised close to $6000 for Zach and his family. We donated 100% of the proceeds from the photo booth to Zach. It was nice to see so many people in Zach’s community supporting him and his family, and we were happy to be a part of it.

This past Friday, I returned to Lincoln Elementary School in Warsaw, Indiana, for their annual school carnival. After being there with the photo booth last year, all the parents, teachers and kids wanted me to return again this year. Lincoln Elementary will always hold a special place in my heart as they were one of the first events that I booked when I purchased my photo booth last year and everyone associated with that school is so nice. I hope that will continue inviting me back in future years.

Having never had a photo booth at the event before, the booth was very popular throughout the night. Both the parents and students enjoyed the booth and most went in several times.

On Friday, I traveled to Claypool, Indiana with the photo booth for their Elementary School carnival. Their theme this year was a sock hop that had great music, slicked hair, and lots of poodle skirts. The carnival itself had activities throughout the school though the central spot was in the gym where the photo booth was. The photo booth was busy from start to finish with several hundred students and some adults enjoying themselves in the booth.

On Friday, we had a photo booth at the Culver Community Elementary School Spring Fling. The carnival had a patriotic theme and was well attended with a band and activities for the kids. The photo booth was a huge hit with a line most of the night. Kids always love playing with the props and being goofy in the booth.

On Sunday, I took the photo booth to the Blue Chip Casino for the annual Bride Blu wedding show. The show was extremely well attended with close to 400 brides. With 40′ of vendor space, we had the largest and probably the most popular booth at the show. (I was asked 2 days before the show to occupy an empty booth next to mine so I took extra tables and tons of props.) We had 5 or 6 brides in line for the booth most of the show. The theme for the night was Putting on the Glitz which was a huge hit with most people dressing in 20′s era clothing. New Year’s Eve was a big event for me and Culver Photo Booth. In addition to celebrating roughly a year in the photo booth business, I enjoyed a couple of firsts on New Year’s Eve. My first New Year’s party with the booth and my first event using a brand new second photo booth. Last night, I had the photo booth in downtown Plymouth, Indiana for Fernbaugh’s Annual “Ladies Night Out” event. Fernbaugh’s does a great job at this event with lots of giveaways, great food, cocktails, and a lot of jewelry specials. Two nights ago, I received, what seemed like at the time, an interesting request for the photo booth. I was asked if I could bring the photo booth to a wake on the following afternoon in Syracuse, Indiana.

Yesterday, I traveled to the beautiful Oakwood Resort in Syracuse and had the photo booth at my first wake. Though, at first, this seemed like the untraditional thing to do, now, in hindsight, I think it turned out to be a very nice tribute to a man who loved life and lived it to its fullest. Instead of mourning their loss of a loved one, the family wanted to celebrate his life with a get-together of friends and family to remember the joy and love that he brought into everyone’s life. And… after spending 3 hours talking to his friends and family, while watching a slideshow in the background, I truly believe the family gave their father a wake that he would have been happy about and enjoyed.

Along with my normal props, I had my Christmas props with me last night. The family had asked that I bring them. The man they were celebrating loved Christmas and had even won an ugly costume contest one holiday season. I’m told that he would have gotten a kick out of the naughty/nice hats, the reindeer antlers, and the elf hats.

Lastly, we had a photo of the gentleman that everyone took into the booth with them. It was a special way of getting one last photo with him.

This weekend, to help support Culver’s EMS, I had the photo booth set up for Culver’s 1st annual Fall Festival.
