I just returned from the Century Center in South Bend where I had the photo booth for Plymouth High School’s 2015 Prom. Being the 3rd year that I’ve been invited with the booth, I’m beginning to get to know some of the students and parents. The booth was very popular with a line most of the night.

I just got back from one of the neatest events I’ve ever been to. Parents, teachers, students, businesses, and social workers all joined forces to put on a Prom for the special needs students in Central Northern Indiana. The event was the dream child of a parent who believed that many of the special needs students miss out on the High School Prom Experience. While some of the students do attend their school’s Prom, many do not. The decision was made to open the event up to special needs students from all of the local area schools instead of having a small party for the students of a single school. The result was a real prom with a lot of people that had a blast. One things truly unique about the event is that EVERYTHING was donated. The community and area businesses the suits and gowns, the food, the music, the limo ride that brought the students to the door, the decorations. In addition to the services and financial contributions, volunteers spend hundreds of hours making the event a success. Next to the candy bar, I believe the photo booth might have been the biggest hit. The kids loved it and all used it several times. I even ended up it once or twice with a few of them.

Last night, I had the photo booth in Plymouth, Indiana for Webster Elementary’s Annual Fun Fair. The booth was very popular throughout the evening with a line most of the time.

I just returned from my third year at Lincoln Elementary’s School Carnival. The booth is always a hit with several people go through multiple time.

On Friday, we had a photo booth at Culver Elementary’s Spring School Carnival. Once again, the kids loved using the booth with all the fun props. So much so, we had a line most of the night!

Last weekend, we took the photo booth to celebrate Emily’s 6th birthday. The theme was Disney’s Frozen. The young girls 9and adults) all had a blast with the photo booth.

Last weekend, we had the photo booth at the IEA Regionals Dinner held at Culver Academy’s Penske Center for the second year in a row. This year, timing worked out really well as the dinner was a little delayed and the photo booth gave the participants something to do while waiting. The photo booth was very popular with a line most of the night.

On Saturday, we took the photo booth to Indianapolis for the reception of Jessica and John who had gotten married two days earlier in New York City. Their reception was held at the Fort Harrison Conference Center overlooking the beautiful golf course at Fort Harrison State Park. Having grown up within a few miles from there, it was nice returning and seeing how the “base” had changed over the years since its closing.

The photo booth was a great addition to the reception and was very popular throughout the evening. Everyone used it a few times and had a lot of fun with it.

Last weekend, I returned for my second year, to the Blue Chip Casino for their annual Bride Blu Wedding Expo. As always, Blue Chip casino and Wedding Day Magazine did a wonderful job setting up and promoting the show. On Sunday, there were over 600 registered brides! After the holidays, things calmed down a little a I was asked to provide a photo booth to Eastlake Nursing and Rehabilitation for their annual post holiday party. This year, their party was held at the Anthenian Ballroom in Elkhart which I’ve now been to a few times. The doctors, nurses and staff loved the photo booth most managed to go through a couple of times. This year, we returned with a photo booth to the Lakehouse Grill in Culver with the photo booth for the second year in a row for their annual New Years Eve Celebration. The years theme was the roaring 20s which a lot of people got into the spirit of with their costumes. The photo booth was a huge hit. On New Year’s Eve, I traveled with the photo booth to the Brick in South Bend for the wedding of Jasondra and Rick. Being a combination of a New Year’s Eve Ceremony and a Wedding Reception, the atmosphere was joyous and a lot of fun. Everyone had a great time with one another and with the photo booth. Last night, I took the photo booth further north than I’ve had to for any prior event. With a referral from a prior rental, I was asked to have the photo booth at the Christmas party for Boling Vision Center held in Granger at the Knollwood Country Club which is only a mile or two from the Indiana/Michigan State Line.

Last night, I traveled with the photo booth to the Athenian Ballroom in Elkhart for the wedding of Courtney and Jorge. Having never been to this venue, I was shocked by the charm and beauty of this little gem in downtown Elkhart. An added bonus of the evening was a great staff that was accommodating and easy to work with.

The photo booth was a huge hit that was busy most of the night. Most of the kids and adults used the photo booth multiple times. The guests were some of the nicest that I’ve encountered. (A couple of them even helped picked up the prop table and pitched in to help gather boa feathers from the floor.) It was a long evening (4 hours) but a lot fun. Friday night, I traveled to South Bend with the photo booth for Evil Czech’s Halloween Bash. The party had lots of people, incredible costumes, great music, good food, and of course great craft beers. Everyone enjoyed had a lot of fun and the photo booth was very popular. This past weekend, I didn’t have to travel very far with the photo booth as the wedding was here in Culver. Held on Culver Academy’s campus at the Woodcraft Dining Hall was special for me as this is where Ginny and I had our reception 19 years ago. (I only wish we could have had a photo booth at our but they’re really weren’t around or available then.) The wedding party and guests had a ball using the photo booth. At most weddings, the photo booth starts a little slow and builds throughout the evening. This was not the case. When we opened, we had a line of at least 20 people which continued most of the night. This past Friday, Akron Elementary invited our photo booth back for the third year to participate in their school carnival. Though I had never visited Akron, Indiana prior to my visit, their school will always be special for me. Three years ago, Akron Elementary was the first school carnival that I was asked to participate in. Last night, I traveled to Swan Lake with the photo booth for the wedding of Ashley and Joel. As always, Swan Lake looked beautiful and did a wonderful job with the event. The photo booth very popular and enjoyed all evening.

Last night Ginny and I traveled with the photo booth to the Chetnix Memorial Hall in Crown Point, Indiana for the wedding of Lori and Ben. Having been at several wedding receptions in the past with the booth, last night was noticeably different. The photo booth was popular from the start with a line from the time I opened that lasted for at least 2 hours. (Usually, the photo booth takes a little time to pick up as no one wants to be the first. Also some people need a little liquid courage to relax and be crazy in the booth. This was not the case last night!) The guests, and the bride and groom, had a ball with the photo booth and enjoyed some of the new props that we bought for the event. Most people went through several times. Ginny and I had a lot of fun working the photo booth as everyone was so nice and everyone was having a blast. (We’re also partial to August weddings as we celebrate our own 19 year anniversary in a couple of days!)

On Sunday we set up the photo booth for the graduation party for four CGA (Culver Girls Academy) graduates (Alle, Amber. Emma, and Oliva) at a private residence overlooking beautiful Lake Maxinkuckee. Though everyone was worn out from 4 days of running around, celebrating with friends and family, crying, and staying up later than is healthy, they still enjoyed using the photo booth.

On Saturday, we traveled to South Bend’s Century Center with one of our photo booths for the wedding reception of Parise and Lwan. As always, the century Center did a great job. However, a big shoot out goes to Angela, the wedding planner at Beautiful Bliss Weddings and Events (http://www.beautifulblissweddings.com/) for creating an elegant event with everything thought out to include a fireworks show. Things went very well, were classy, and (from a vendor viewpoint) organized.

Last night I returned to the Culver Coffee Company with the photo booth for a group graduation party. This is my second year setting up the photo booth on the Friday before Graduation for a group party. Last night, we had a photo booth out at The Bourbon Back Forty for Bremen’s 2014 Prom. Kudos goes out to the Bremen’s Art Teacher and the decorating committee for making everything look beautiful! The students had a blast and LOVED the photo booth. We were non-stop all night and I felt bad shutting it down at the end. (If I hadn’t, I think they would have used it half the night.)
